In the famous movie Ratatouille, our mouse friend Remy explores the world of French ingredients and cookery with the mindset that “Anyone Can Cook” including him. At the end of the movie, the little guy proves himself by making a fine-dining version of one of the oldest French stews stemming back to the 18th Century, ratatouille.
In this class, we will make the traditional stewed version of ratatouille as well as the fine dining version used in the movie! In addition to the star vegetable dish, we will make pomme puree, which is a creamier and heartier version of mashed potatoes, and celebrate the revival of the dish ratatouille in movie by enjoying a few select French cheeses that Remy enjoyed early on in the movie that sparked his interest in French Cookery.
