Want to learn the basics of baking bread? What is a biga? Curious about proofing? Asking yourself if your kneading technique needs attention? Join us for this multi-faceted class in which you'll see demonstrations of how to create artisan bread in your kitchen. Plus, plenty of time to work hands-on in our teaching kitchen.
Menu will include Brasilian Cheese Bread (Gluten Free), Sugared Cardamom Braid, Brioche Bread, Garlic Breadsticks and Irish Soda Bread with Homemade Butter.
Techniques learned in class will include baking quick breads properly; proofing yeast; kneading bread; measuring wet and dry ingredients accurately, enriching dough, shaping braids and loaves; making butter from scratch; choosing proper equipment and ingredients.
Class price includes generous sampling of everything prepared, printed recipes, and one glass of wine, beer or non-alcoholic beverage. Students will work in groups of 4 making a loaf of bread to be shared.
