Skills Learned in this Class: 

Knife skills with salsa and fruit, quick pickling for preserving and taming purple onions, plating, preparing pastry cream, glazing fruit, cleaning a mango safely, sautéing vegetables, making a stable emulsion, searing salmon in a pan & finishing in oven.

Guest Instructor: Daryl Boeckers

Daryl is a 25-year educator and the principal home cook of his family. Informed early by his mother about familiarity with the kitchen, he joined in early at a young age. His first three summers as a teacher were spent in a professional kitchen prepping & serving Sunday brunch and plating wedding dishes at a nearby golf course where he learned a lot about scaling dishes up. Daryl’s social media feed is chock-full of ideas and demonstrations from professional chefs, YouTube sensations, and local eateries. Additionally, he also has a list of dishes to learn soon. Daryl began his passion in the kitchen because of the food and recipes. He is now learning in his 40s that what he enjoys most about cooking is the people around the table.
