Do you want to know more about cooking with cast iron? In this class we'll learn how to cook with and care for this beautiful traditional cookware. We'll go through the basics of caring for cast iron and how to build up a wonderfully seasoned pan, why we cook with cast iron, the health benefits involved, and how to restore a skillet you may have found. We'll be cooking with vintage and new cast iron in the class, including Finex, a high-quality handcrafted American cast Iron.
We will be showing off the strengths of our black iron with Perfectly Seared Ribeye Steaks with Pan Sauce Reduction, Crispy Baked Potatoes, Skillet Cornbread with Honey Cinnamon Whipped Butter, and Roasted and Sautéed Seasonal Vegetables. Many techniques will be learned in this class - Roasting, Searing, Baking, and Sautéing.
This class will include generous sampling and every participant may enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage.
