Teenagers unite! In this one day cooking bootcamp teenagers will prepare a scrumptious sushi and teppanyaki style meal.
Our sushi feast is based on fresh produce, fresh seasonings, fine meats and something sweet. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food.
Menu will consist of: California rolls, Chicken or Steak Teppanyaki, Coconut Sticky Rice and properly brewed Green Tea.
Skills Covered in Class Include: Getting Familiar with Seasonal Ingredients; Chopping Vegetables; Selecting and Grilling Red Meat & Poultry; Determining Meat Doneness; Working with Spices and Fresh Herbs; Rolling Sushi; Cooking Rice.
Due to the layout of our kitchen and in consideration of your classmates, students will work in groups of 2 or 3 people.
Students will eat a full meal of everything prepared in class. Clean-up will be part of this learning experience. Geared towards ages 12-16 years of age.
