You've signed up for your weekly CSA Share, now learn how to efficiently use all that produce you're about to have sticking out of every corner in the refrigerator!
In our 3-part Harvest Series we'll unpack a CSA basket together and you'll learn how to make the most out of all those delicious vegetables. In the class you will learn how to properly store many types of vegetables, including which vegetables should be stored on the countertop, in the pantry, in a cold room, or in the fridge. You'll learn methods of preserving produce such as freezing, jam making, pickling, dehydrating, fermenting and canning. We'll teach you quick methods to cook veggies. And, new, inventive ways to eat your vegetables like your mamma told you to!
We'll meet on three Monday's in August - 8/6, 8/13, and 8/20 from 6:30-8:00.
Every session will include a light, summer-time meal, based around what is in our CSA Share, which we will prepare as a group in class. You may enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage included in class price. At each session we will be joined by a local CSA farmer to answer any questions we may have about their farm or the produce they grow.
Every session will include several take home seasonal recipes.
